Welcome to our website. Westhaven Elementary is a school where all students have a supportive learning environment. Our instructional staff, teachers, teacher assistants, resource teachers, counselor, itinerate teachers, and administrators work collaboratively to provide learning opportunities for all students. Our staff is approachable, knowledgeable, has high expectations, and committed to the needs of all our students.
Our students are dynamic and energetic learners who are actively engaged in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, music, and physical education. In addition, our students have the opportunity to participate in the following: CHROME Club, Odyssey of the Mind. National Junior Honor Society, Circle of Love (Girls), and Athletic Club (Boys).
At Westhaven, we believe our students also need opportunities to develop as citizens. We are committed to teach and demonstrate PBIS expectations. PBIS is a systems approach for establishing the social culture and individualized behavioral supports that are needed to have effective learning environments for all students. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.
Students benefit as parents/guardians are involved in their learning. It is our goal to have consistent communication between home and school and regular opportunities for families to learn about what is happening at school.
